What is propane?

• Propane is a green fuel. Propane is a clean-burning fuel with low emissions—which means fewer greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere.
• Propane is produced domestically from both natural gas processing and crude oil refining, in roughly equal amounts from each source.
• Propane is nontoxic, colorless, and virtually odorless. An identifying odor is added so the gas can be readily detected.
