 As part of the Federal Economic Stimulus Package, the U.S. government has extended savings on energy improvements to your home through 2011 for those who install energy-efficient heating and cooling systems.
If you make eligible improvements, you can claim 10% of the cost, up to a maximum of $500 (It must be your permanent residence, and is not retroactive to earlier years.)
Eligible equipment includes propane hot water heaters with an energy factor of .82 or a thermal efficiency of at least 90% (including on-demand types). |
